Isaiah's New Reward Jars

A few months back we had started a "happy cup" and "sad cup" for Isaiah to try to reward good behavior and also have a consequence for bad behavior.  It was great for us at the time and Isaiah really needed that visual of moving marbles from one cup or the other.  My friend Allison did something with her daughter Ella that worked on more specific things.  So Kyle and I looked at her idea and adapted it for Isaiah.  We talked about some of the things we wanted to specifically work on with him and then I made little pictures and just taped them to the jars.  Nothing fancy.  If he did these certain things he was allowed to move whatever item was in that jar into the BIG jar.  Filling up the big jar was the ultimate goal.

 The first two jars are the ones we needed the most.  The bedtime jar has bouncy balls in it and he gets to put a bouncy ball in the big jar if he stays in bed when we say it bedtime and he doesn't wine and cry.  This has been a huge help to us and we love this jar!  The other jar is for meal time.  He gets to move a white pom pom ball into the big jar if he sits at the table like a good boy and eats his food.  This also has helped so much!

The next jar is the "Be nice to Drew" jar.  He gets to put a bell in the big jar when he is sweet and shares his toys.  He has it in his head that if he gives Drew a kiss, he should get a bell.  The next jar with the lips on them is for speaking his words correctly.  He has done really well this past month and has tried to really work on his words.

 The last two jars are for reading his Bible and brushing his teeth.  Since we make him do these daily, these jars have small beads in them.  These are the guaranteed jars.  So at least he gets to put something in every day even if he wasn't good at bedtime, meal time or to Drew. HaHa!  Believe me--we still have those days when there is no reward at all!!  :)

Here is the big jar.  If he gets up to the 1/4 line, he gets to go get ice cream.  If he gets 1/2 way up the jar, he gets to sleep in his tent.  Sorry I didn't have the picture on the jar yet.  If he gets 3/4 of the jar full, he gets a fun day with Amy at a movie, park, science spectrum, etc.  And if he fills it to the top, he gets to go to Walmart and pick out a toy!  He is so excited about all these possibilities!!  Thank you Allison for sharing  your great idea.  We love it!
