I got a call from Amy's assistant principal letting me know that Amy would be receiving a huge award for Teacher of the Year at her school in Lubbock. It was a huge surprise! She needed my help in contacting people and writing a little bio about Amy. I came up with a cute song about her to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies. It was great! A group of her fellow teachers sang the song and it helped to introduce Amy to the crowd and also let her know that she was the winner of the award. It was a fun evening seeing Amy honored in front of her peers and seeing how much they love and respect her. She will be missed greatly at her school when she moves to Midland this summer. Amy, what a honor it was for me to be there to witness what we already knew--that you are great, wonderful and we love you!

And this guy drove to Lubbock after practice to join us at Casey and Aric's house for fajitas and fellowship. He surprised her and made her night. I am so glad that he helped us make it special for her. What a guy!!
