Fun in the rain

When it does actually rain here, we celebrate and play in it!  It is such a different, rare thing for us that we don't hide inside!  Ha!  I remember playing in the rain when I was younger and lived in Spearman. There was always a huge current right by my house by the curb.  We used Dove soap (because it floats) and put a popsicle stick in it to make it look like a boat. We would let it go at our house and it would literally float quickly all the way down the street to my Grandma's house (4 blocks).  I remember chasing it and amazed at how fast it moved.  We had such a great time in the rain.  So with my boys, we decided to use a ball and watch it float down the gutter. After many trials, the boys decided that a ping pong ball was light enough to work.  They each had a ball and would drop it in the water by our drive way and then run as fast as they could to catch it at the end of the yard.  This provided hours of fun and brought back such fun memories.
